(Session co-organized with GIZ).In fragile and conflict-affected contexts, development and humanitarian could be reversed unless they are grounded in a lasting peace. Yet peacebuilding often comes too late, treated as separate from urgent interventions. This panel will explore how the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus can be better implemented to ensure coordinated, coherent, and complementary action across borders. Focusing on the Lake Chad Basin and Ethiopia, the discussion will highlight opportunities to integrate peacebuilding into development programs from the outset. Bringing together donors, regional organizations, think tanks, and civil society, panelists will examine new approaches, share lessons learned, and discuss practical strategies for stronger collaboration. Join us to explore how peace can become the foundation of sustainable progress.
