Jebessa holds Master’s degree in Development Studies and has over 15 years of experience in the civil society sector, working with both local and international organizations. His expertise spans governance, peacebuilding, livelihoods development, and civil society strengthening. He has led local organizations and played a pivotal role in designing and managing large-scale, multi-actor programmes in Ethiopia, particularly in civil society support, private sector development, and sustainable livelihoods. A committed advocate for minority rights, he promotes social diversity and inclusion as a foundation for resilient peace, supporting transitions toward inclusive democracy and sustainable development. He is also a strong promoter of active citizenship and civic engagement to advance accountable and inclusive governance as well as for transformative social change led and owned by citizens.
