As Africa pursues its industrialization ambitions and aims to advance along the mineral value chains, the European Union, the United States, China and other importing countries are ramping up efforts to secure raw materials for strategic industries, including energy transition and security. Bridging these priorities requires a high-level strategic dialogue to ensure that mineral security does not come at the expense of Africa’s economic transformation but rather serves as a catalyst for sustainable industrial development. This roundtable will bring together leaders from African countries and regional institutions, as well as views from the European Union and other large importers to explore how to shape mutually beneficial partnerships - ensuring investment, policy coordination, and innovative partnerships can create resilient, value-driven supply chains that benefit all.
