Description

With 25 years of senior leadership experience at the intersection of human rights, artisanal and small scale mining, and social justice, Bandi Mbubi is the newly appointed Executive Director of the Fair Cobalt Alliance, a multi-stakeholder initiative driving systemic change in cobalt mining communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this role, he works with industry, civil society, and local partners to promote responsible sourcing, improve livelihoods, and tackle child labour and unsafe practices in artisanal mining. Bandi also founded and led Congo Calling (2012–2022), a decade-long campaign to end the illicit trade of conflict minerals and to promote technologies that benefit both consumers and producers.
