Zenzi Natasha Awases is a Namibian geologist, sustainability consultant, and passionate advocate for gender equity and inclusive growth in Africa’s mining sector. With over 15 years of experience spanning exploration and mining, she has been instrumental in driving technical excellence, ethical practice, and leadership transformation within the industry. As Founding President of the Women in Mining Association of Namibia (WiMAN) and current President of the Association of Women in Mining in Africa (AWIMA), Zenzi champions empowerment, mentorship, and policy reform to ensure women play a central role in shaping the continent’s mineral future. She founded Empowermine Consulting Services to advance ESG and sustainable development across extractives. In 2021, she received Namibia’s Most Excellent Order of the Eagle Award, First Class, recognising her visionary leadership and lasting impact.
