(Session co-organized with the European External Action Service (EEAS)).Young peacebuilders will share first-hand experiences of mobilizing communities, countering hate speech, bridging divides, and identifying innovating solutions.Young people make up more than 40% of the global population and they are the generations of future global governance. The conversation will highlight why youth are uniquely positioned to act as catalysts of change: their ability to build trust across divides, leverage digital tools for advocacy, and act swiftly through informal channels. The role of youth networks as amplifiers of collective action will be emphasized, including also critical views on why democracy is not necessarily delivering tangible benefits in terms of jobs and opportunities for youth to participate in their societies.Youth networks, at local, national and international level, offer a crucial model to allow young people to find their collective voice and to be able to influence global decision-making. Young peacebuilders need to be equipped and empowered to allow them to contribute to responding to dangerous global trends as they move to take up the reins of responsibility in their own countries and at an international level. Ways of how to do this best will be discussed with a view to identifying concrete follow up.The session will encourage interaction with the audience through live questions and quick exchanges, ensuring practical insights. It will conclude with key takeaways from youth voices, including recommendations to the EU.
