Description
Coal consumption continues to rise worldwide and represents one of the greatest threats to achieving the 1.5°C target. Progress has been made: since the adoption of the Paris Agreement, plans for new coal-fired power plants have fallen by 60% worldwide. To accelerate this momentum, this roundtable will highlight the progressmade by Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETP) and highlight new financial mechanisms to support emerging countries in the coal transition.
