Senior Director for Climate Change, Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Description

Toru is the Senior Director in ADB’s Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department. His portfolio covers climate change, disaster risk management, and environmental sustainability. Toru previously served as ADB’s focal staff for UNFCCC matters, carbon markets, and climate change technologies. Most recently, he was the Energy Director for Southeast Asia overseeing policy dialogue, technical assistance, investment programs and projects, and regional cooperation efforts across ASEAN and was in charge of the Energy Transition Mechanism which is now one of ADB’s flagship climate mitigation initiatives.
