High-Level International Conference on Information Integrity and Independent Media - Information Integrity and Major Global Challenges
Oct 30, 2025 — 09:30 am - 11:00 AMScène A - Musée de l'Homme

Description
(Session co-organized with the International Fund for Public Interest Media and the Forum on Information and Democracy).Threats to reliable information ecosystems undermine our collective ability to address the most pressing global challenges of our times. In this session, two discussions will explore the links between information integrity and two critical global challenges: the fight against climate change and the emergence of artificial intelligence. Now, ten years after the Paris Accords and a few days before COP30, climate disinformation threatens our ability to stay on course to meet IPCC targets. Artificial intelligence poses existential risks for reliable information, notably by enabling the large-scale spread of unreliable information and undermining the economic model of independent media. Political leaders and experts will discuss several recently launched international initiatives and other practical solutions. This session will also feature the announcement of commitments made by world leaders during the political segment of the International Conference held on October 29th.
