María Teresa Kumar is the Co-founder and President of Voto Latino, the nation’s largest Latino voter registration and civic engagement organization. For the past 20 years, she has led efforts that registered more than 2 million voters in key battleground states, while Voto Latino now reaches over 6 million Americans each month through digital campaigns that merge technology, culture, and activism.An Emmy-nominated MSNBC analyst and frequent guest host, Kumar also serves on the boards of Steve Madden and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and a Senior Fellow at the Charles F. Kettering Foundation.Her leadership has earned recognition from Fast Company, TIME, Washingtonian, Bloomberg, and the Carnegie Corporation. Raised in Sonoma, California, she is a proud first-generation graduate of UC Davis and Harvard’s Kennedy School.
