Description

Sawsan Chebli served as State Secretary for Civic Engagement and International Relations in Berlin (2016–2021). A seasoned foreign policy expert, she previously worked as spokesperson to the German Foreign Minister and as foreign policy adviser in Parliament.She is a member of leading international networks, including the Körber Foundation’s Foreign Policy Network, the Munich Security Conference’s Young Leaders, and the Board of Global Citizen Europe. She also co-founded the Young Professionals Chapter at the German Council on Foreign Relations.Sawsan has extensive experience in campaigning, advocacy, and political communication, having run for the German Parliament herself. As a social media influencer, she has faced hate speech and digital violence, leading her to publish LAUT, a book on the impact of social media on democracy. She is currently Senior Advisor at Media City Qatar.
