Description

Yoko Hirose, Ph.D. is Professor at the Faculty of Policy Management and Deputy Director of the Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI). Her research centers on international politics and regional studies, with a particular focus on conflicts, peace processes, hybrid warfare and unrecognized states in the former Soviet region. She is a member of the International Expert Group on Ukraine Peace Settlement and has long been engaged in public policy, serving as an Advisor to Japan’s National Security Secretariat and on numerous government committees. She has received several academic distinctions for her contributions to the study of Eurasian politics—particularly the politics and issues of conflict and peace in the former Soviet region—as well as hybrid warfare and related security dynamics.
