With an engineering background, Nicolas Kompalitch began his career in finance before dedicating himself to climate and social challenges. In 2016, he took over Canopy Energies and steered the company toward energy transition projects with a strong social impact.In Madagascar, he leads the Fagnako project, a program to restore 10,000 hectares of degraded land through agroforestry based on Pongamia pinnata, a tree producing vegetable oil for biofuel and protein-rich meal for animal feed.This innovative model combines reforestation, renewable energy production, and local development. In September 2025, the team celebrated the planting of the one-millionth tree, symbolizing a strong collective commitment to the climate, nature, and local communities.
