Description

Cécile Aptel is Deputy Director at UNICEF, leading global research and foresight. A professor of international law, she has taught at Harvard, Oxford, the Geneva Academy and Fletcher School. Her career spans senior roles at the UN and the Red Cross, with a focus on justice, peace and security, humanitarian affairs, arms control and human rights. She helped establish the UN-IIIM on Syria, led international investigations, and founded the children and youth program at the ICTJ. She holds a PhD in international law and has authored over 30 publications.
