Description

Letícia Benavalli is a Brazilian conservation biologist and the Founder of the Pró-Onça Institute. Her work centers on protecting jaguars and restoring critical habitats while empowering rural women and youth as leaders of change. With an MSc in Ecology and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice from the University of Oxford, she combines research with community-based action, leading projects in ecological corridors, restoration nurseries and environmental education. Recognized as a Forbes Sustainability Leaders finalist and a fellow of YLAI, Oxford GESA, and AMEX, she has also been awarded by Born Free Foundation, Green Talents, CLP Award and the Marsh Award. Passionate about storytelling, Letícia directed her first documentary in 2024, amplifying women’s voices in conservation and climate justice.
