Dr. Sabine Becker-Thierry is the Executive Officer of the UN University and heads the Paris Office. She works closely with the Rector on strategic priorities of the University. Since March 2024, she has been rebuilding the University's Office, advancing science-informed diplomacy, strengthening outreach, and building partnerships between academia and policymakers.Previously, Sabine worked as a consultant advising UN agencies, NGOs, and governments on aid effectiveness, humanitarian coordination, and organisational performance. She also served as an evaluator with the UN in New York and began her career at a European consulting firm, managing development and institutional reform projects.A German national, she holds a PhD from Waseda in Tokyo and master’s degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the Sorbonne.
