Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development

Description

The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia is also the Director General of the National Environmental Licensing Authority. She was Minister of Mines and Energy (2022–2023) in Colombia’s first progressive government, leading a just energy transition. As Consul General of Colombia in the United Kingdom (2024–2025), she promoted diplomacy based on human and environmental rights. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Geography from the University of Copenhagen, is a Fulbright Scholar, and a Senior Researcher recognized by the Ministry of Science. As a Full Professor at Universidad del Valle, she led studies on political ecology and environmental conflicts.
