Description
Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, born in Ohrid in 1953, is a retired full professor of Constitutional Law and Political System at the “Iustinian Primus” Faculty of Law, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. She earned her PhD cum laude in 1994 from Ljubljana and authored over 200 works. She served as minister without portfolio (1992–1994), UN and Council of Europe expert, and member of the Venice Commission (2008–2016). A pioneer of clinical legal education and founder of political studies in Macedonia, she has been recognised for her contributions to the rule of law and gender equality. A 2019 presidential candidate, she was elected President of the Republic of North Macedonia in 2024, becoming the country’s first woman to hold this office.
