Description

Moussa Faki Mahamat is the Special Envoy of the Pact for Prosperity, People and the Planet (4P), mandated to strengthen partnerships, foster inclusive dialogue, and support coordinated efforts to transform the international financial architecture. A seasoned Chadian diplomat and statesman, he served as Prime Minister of Chad (2003–2005) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2008–2017), where he advanced Chad’s role on the UN Security Council and regional diplomacy in Libya, Sudan, and Mali.From 2017 to 2025, he completed two terms as Chairperson of the African Union Commission, spearheading initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, continental strategies on health and nutrition, development financing, environmental action, and peace negotiations in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic. His leadership has championed peace, inclusive development, and multilateral cooperation, including African-led security solutions like the G5 Sahel and MNJTF, while elevating Africa’s diplomatic voice and strategic partnerships worldwide
