Description

Leonora Tima founded GRIT – Gender Rights in Tech, a feminist nonprofit co-creating tech solutions for gender-based violence survivors in South Africa. Drawing on 16 years of experience with youth and GBV survivors, she works toward ethical, survivor-centered tech innovation.Her work has received recognition including Top 50 Most Inspiring Women in Tech in Africa (2023), Mozilla's Responsible AI Challenge, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Grand Challenges Award. In 2024, she received the Wired4Women Tech for Good Award and was a Women in Tech Africa Awards finalist. Through GRIT, she continues working at the intersection of technology, justice, and women's rights.
