Daniel F. Wilhelm is President of The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation. HFG examines enduring and urgent problems of violence through basic and applied research, grants and fellowships to scholars, and dissemination of knowledge to inform policy, practice, and public discourse. Mr. Wilhelm previously was Vice President and Chief Program Officer of the Vera Institute of Justice, a litigator at Sidley & Austin, and law clerk to a federal judge in New York. He is a founding director of the Council on Criminal Justice, has advised university and philanthropic research initiatives, and has written and testified widely on crime policy. Mr. Wilhelm is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, Harvard Divinity School, and the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
