Description

Martin Raiser currently leads the World Bank’s engagement on economic policy and cooperation issues with European stakeholders. He has previously served as Vice President for the South Asia Region at the World Bank, Country Director for China, Brazil, Turkey and Ukraine and Country Manager for Uzbekistan. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2003, he was Director of Country Strategy at the EBRD in London and editor of the Transition Report. Martin holds a PhD in Economics from Kiel University, and Masters and Bachelor degrees in Development Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics.
