Kiara Nirghin is an award-winning Stanford technologist, author, and sustainability advocate from South Africa. She gained international recognition after winning the Google Grand Prize for pioneering AI research addressing climate change. Featured on TIME’s Most Influential, Forbes 30 Under 30, and Glamour’s College Women of the Year, Nirghin is also a Thiel Fellow and Y Combinator alum. She has contributed to The Economist and TIME 100 Voices, and published her first book with Penguin Random House. As Co-founder and CTO of Chima, a San Francisco–based applied AI lab backed by General Catalyst, she is advancing the future of how AI understands the world and builds new ones.
