Description
Virginie De Ruyt graduated from the Solvay Business School as Management Engineer in Brussels in 2000. As a senior business analyst with the Management Consultancy A.T.Kearney, she accompanied several leading multi-national companies on their sourcing and acquisition processes.Keen to increase the sense of purpose in her work and a strong believer in solidarity, she opted for a dramatic change in her career and moved to Phnom-Penh, Cambodia, to work for Handicap International, working alongside vulnerable populations. The passion of cooperation never left her since. For the last 20 years, she has been working for the European Commission’s DG for International Partnerships. First in Beijing, China, on clean energy and circular economy. Then in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Back to Brussels, she is now Deputy/Acting Head of Unit for East and Central Africa, also covering the Great Lakes.
