With urgent concerns ranging from child safety to online scams, the moment demands that we improve access and accelerate innovation in online safety technologies — where essential tools have too often been siloed, gate-kept or lagging behind the pace of progress.The rapid growth of AI, and the rise of agentic AI in particular, has only intensified this need. Building on global momentum from the Paris AI Safety Summit, this panel brings together leaders from various organizations to discuss how they are collaborating to build an open-source safety commons, what progress has been made over the past few months, and the challenges that remain ahead.The session underscores the imperative for transparent, accessible, and pluralistic safety tools that can serve as a common foundation for all.
